IB EXAM INFORMATION 2010Hello IB Students and Parents!!
Students enrolled in IB courses are required to take the corresponding IB Exam(s). Please view the IB Exam Registration Form under class files. The cost for each IB Exam is $92.00. This covers all parts of their assessments; the internal project as well as the exam in May. Depending on the IB Exam score and the University of choice; students may potentially earn some college credit. Please visit www.ibo.org, click on colleges and universtities, and search institutions you may be interested in to view their credit policies. In the range of 1-7, any score that is 4 or higher is considered to be a 'qualifying' score for college credit. Again, this is largely dependent on the University credit policy and varies by institution. The TRUE value of enrolling in an IB course and completing the IB exam(s) is in the experience. Students will experience the rigor of the curriculum; the various skills required to be successful in IB courses; the high level discussion and inquiry as well as the experience of the timed exams in a simulated college setting. We truly believe that students benefit tremendously for having this experience before entering their freshman year of college. IB Exam payments are due by October 1, 2009. Checks can be made payable to MVHS and given to your IB teacher or directly to Ms. Watts in the IB room. Cash is also accepted - you must make that payment directly to Ms. Watts. This year we expect to give over 300 IB exams!! We would like to congratulate all students taking IB, AP and DE courses for taking the plunge. We wish you the best of luck!
